Nancy Wynne b. about 1800 of Wake Co, NC (dau. of William or Robert?)
I've recently been doing some research to fill in some holes in my family tree, and I may have finally found the parents of my gr-gr-gr-grandmother, Nancy A. Wynne, but I'm not positive, and if anyone can provide some more solid evidence/proof, I would appreciate it.
My gr-gr-gr-grandfather was Lodewick Alford High (b. 3-26-1800 in Wake Co, NC).On 8-19-1819, he married Nancy A. Wynne (his name is listed as "Lodurick" in the Wake Co. marriage records).Nancy was born approximately 1800 in Wake Co, NC, and died approximately 1855 in Yalobusha Co, MS.
I have written down (but did not record the source, but I would guess from Wake Co. deed books) that Nancy Wynne was the sister of "Prisciller" who married Low Jackson on 10-7-1822 in Wake Co, NC.Both Nancy and Priscilla's marriages were witnessed by S.H. Pullen.
Based on various family trees and other information I have found on the web, I find that Priscilla Wynne was the daughter of William Wynne (born 1752, son of Matthew Wynne and Sarah ?Bolling) and Nancy Parham (his first wife).I am *guessing* that Nancy Wynne may have been the daughter of Robert Wynne (b. about 1776), who was Priscilla's older brother from the same marriage -- which would make Nancy as Priscilla's niece instead of her sister.Or, could Nancy be a previously-unrecorded ninth child of William Wynne, and therefore Priscilla's much-younger sister?
If anyone is able to shed some light into Nancy Wynne's parentage, I would be interested in hearing from you.
