Wynn Family Ga to Texas
I have approximately 100 original letters dating from 1834 through WWI and later, relating to the Richard Ivy Wynn family.Richard Ivy Wynn was a Methodist circuit minister is Ga.He then studied medicine in Louisville and he and wife, Catherine and family, I believe, lived briefly in Alabama, then moved to Texas.
The letters date from Richard & Catherine's courtship, his studies in medical school, through letters after their move to Texas, as well as letters from two of their sons while they were serving in the Civil War.(Two sons were killed in the Civil War.)
There are also letters from a grandson who served in France at the end of WWI and his return, his father's subsequent death and his career afterward. This family are also listed in the DAR, but I'm new at this and don't know how to contact them.I would like, especially, who find family members who live in NE Texas, which is where I believe this branch of the family finally settled.Richard Watson Wynn, one of the sons of Richard Ivy Wynn married Ruth M. Wilson on 11/16/1859.I have letters from him to his father during the Civil War.The last name in the old family Bible was of an Angus Wynn, who I believe was the son of Richard Watson Wynn.Any assistance in finding this family's present relatives would be greatly appreciated.
