Robert WYNNE (d. 1811 Warren Co., GA)
Robert WYNNE died in Warren Co., GA between 23 Apr 1811 (the date of his will) and December 1811 (when his estate proceedings began).Robert was apparently married to Elizabeth DUDLEY, da. of Mrs. Elizabeth [CLEMENT(S)] DUDLEY, who died testate in between 1762-1764 in Prince George Co., VA, leaving small children. She made provision in her will for the care of her four DUDLEY children except Elizabeth, who perhaps was already married and thus needed no guardian [the testator's two CAMP daughters by a previous marriage were definitely already married].If Elizabeth DUDLEY was the eldest of the four DUDLEY children, and the only one of an age to be married and not require a guardian, then she was probably born no less than sixteen or so years before, or ca 1746.
Circumstantial evidence leads several researchers to believe that Robert WYNNE was a son of William WYNNE (died ca 1778 Pittsylvania Co., VA) and his wife Frances.According to most of the family listings I’ve seen of William & Frances’s children, Robert was born ca 1728, and all his siblings between 1724-1734.If his alleged birthdate is correct, there seems to be a significant difference between the ages of Robert WYNNE (born ca 1728) and his wife Elizabeth (b. ca 1746), raising the question of whether she might have been a second or later wife.
What evidence indicates the approximate birth year of William & Frances WYNNE’s son Robert? Is there any evidence to indicate when the Robert WYNNE of Warren Co., GA (d. 1811) was born?
I am a descendant of Robert & Elizabeth’s son Clement WYNNE and his wife Frances DEWBERRY; I would like to hear any discussion not already posted here about the ancestry of Robert WYNNE, especially any evidence to prove or disprove that William & Frances were his parents.
