Hi, thanks for the reminder; here are several, but not all sources: NB Genweb (nb.canadagenealogyweb.org), www.geanealogylinks.net/canada/new_brunswick, new-brunswick.net/nbgenlinks/index.htm, www.nbgs.ca (New Brunswick Gen. Soc. website). Also try About.com and enter New Brunswick Canada in their search box; it will bring up a lot of registries. Also try rootsweb, which atleast used to be free and which would allow you to enter the name, dob and parents and find postings by others as well as some census info which is very reliable.I wasn't suggesting you go to the univ.! but if you really run into problems or need special info they are wonderful to write to - my aunt was able to find my gr-father's WWI regiment info from them as well as other ancestors' land grant info, etc. Very good resource; not limited to french-canadians (tho I am part that) but the whole are was originally Acadia, with most ports early on arriving at Port Royal, Acadia (Nova Scotia). There were a lot of Winns from Ireland; tho the original name is Welsh, anciently. Not a long distance to migrate, really. My line is English so I don't know much about the Irish line. Also it was much cheaper to migrate from Ireland to the Can. Eastern Provinces (abt 2000 mi.) as opposed to NYC, much further.Good luck! Marcia.
