Digging through my paper info, I found the following:
"Clerk of Court, Halifax Co., VA.Will of Richard Echols.July 18, 1763.(abst. of all names mention.)
Richard Echols of Halifax to Thomas Wynne, son of Col. William Wynne, and his wife Mary Wynne and his son Obediah Wynne of Halifax Co., VA for love and affection, Richard Echols has for his dau. Mary, wife of said Thomas Wynne and mother of Obediah.Several tracts of land on Warpath Branch. (Ogburn, AS I WAS TOLD, p. 124)
Wilkes Co., GA.Will of Thomas Wynn, dated 29 Aug. 1791. (ibid 127. Abst. of all names mention. My wife, Mary Wynn, that part of my land laying on the upper side of the large road, it being the part on which I now live, and if she should die before my two daus. Rhodea and Lucy should marrry, then they both or either of them together with my son Thomas, to have possession of said land.If my daughters continue unmarried or should die and no longer, after which time I gie said land to my son, Thomas.I give unto my son Obediah, the land on which he now lives. . . it being on the lower side of the large goad.(No mention of other children).
So, these two would surely prove that the Thomas Wynn who died in Wilkes Co., GA in 1791 was son of Colonel Wm. Wynne, Sr. and that Thomas Wynn's wife was Mary, daughter of Richard Echols.
Do you agree?
