Pads, TN (1964) was the New Testament of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ (King James Version), printed for Mathew Carey, No. 118, Market street, Philadelphia, October 27th, 1802. On the last page of the New Testament is inscribed 'This book was purchased Anno Domini 1803 by Watkin Win. Wynns". Capt. Watkin William Wynns was a Justice of the Peace in Bertie County, NC from
1782-4. He purchased land in Martin County, NC and was sheriff there from 1790
to 1800. Watkin William Wynns died in Martin County, NC on March 20,1812. His
Bible was taken to Henry County, TN with the family of his youngest son Samuel
Wynns, probably about 1821 when Samuel bought 212 1/2 acres in Stewart County (later Henry County) TN from Eli Cherry of Davidson County, TN.
