Linda,

The obit listing for Jacob Conover Wynkoop can be found at:

http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/nj/monmouth/obits/1913obitrndx.txt

and indicates it was printed in the Asbury Park Evening Press

These obits began March 6, 1913 and go through Dec, 1919.

Source: Microfilm at the Alexander Library, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ

NOTE: This index does NOT Include the Sunday edition. The Sunday obits are on a separate microfilm which has not been transcribed. Date listed is date of newspaper NOT date of death.

I've been researching Jacob's family since 1999 and have yet to find any concrete evidence that his father was born in New Jersey, (despite what the 1880 Census record may say.) Knowing, through much bitter experience, how wrong the census records can be, I'm more inclined to think that Jacob, (the father), was more likely an offspring of a New York branch of the family, rather than a native New Jersean. Just an opinion of course, so take it for what it's worth.

All my best,

Chris
