Hey Dick,

Don't beat yourself up. I'm just an ordinary guy like you trying to solve a family mystery or two. (And I put my pants on one leg at a time!)

Do you mind if I ask you a question?

I researched the Wynekoops of Clinton County, Indiana pretty thoroughly in the Census records, while I was looking into the Wynekoop murder case back in 1933. See the message I posted back in 2000 at:

http://genforum.familytreemaker.com/wynkoop/messages/89.html

Do you have any idea why William M. changed the spelling of the name from Wynkoop to Wynekoop? This is something that has always puzzled me. Are there any family rumors that you might have heard that talk about the spelling change? (Incidentally, which of William's kids are you descended from?)

By the way, thanks for the flowers! It's always nice to hear that someone has found the website useful.

All my best,

Chris
