I'm looking for any information at all regarding Henry Wynkoop, merchant of the City of Philadelphia, and his wife Mary Elizabeth Reinholdt. They signed a marriage bond, (according to the Pennsylvania Archives), on August 10, 1775 and purchased or owned property in Philadelphia on August 21st, 1775, just 11 days later. They sold property in the Township of Northern Liberties, Philadelphia County on June 26th, 1786 to Tench Coxe, a rather famous merchant, also of Philadelphia. According to the Will of her father, George Christopher REINHOLDT, (Philadelphia Wills, Book W. No. 384, dated January 3rd, 1791 and a Codicil signed June 24th, 1793), Mary Elizabeth's mother was named Mary and she had 6 living brothers and sisters; Peggy, Rebecca, Henry, Daniel, Frederick, and George. George Christopher Reinholdt is listed as being a Stationer in the City of Philadelphia. I would appreciate any information you could give me regarding these two families, or any pointers to family genealogies which might enable me to track down Henry Wynkoop's parentage. I'm guessing here, but I suspect that Henry was born around 1750 and Mary Elizabeth around 1755, most probably in the Philadelphia area. Hoping to hear from you. Many thanks, Chris Wynkoop Wayne, PA Notify Administrator about this message?
