I can't answer your question about Patrick Quinn, but the Quins and Wyndams were certainly related and the arms of the two families are quartered.
Wyndham Henry Quinn, second Earl of Dunraven and Mount Earle, married Caroline. daughter and sole heiress of Thomas Wyndham, esq. of Dunraven Castle, co. Glamorgan, a lineal descendant of Sir John Wyndham or Orchard Wyndham, ancestor, through his eldest son, of the Earls of Egremont.
The Quins whose arms are quartered with Wyndham were the Quins, or O'Quins of Inchiquin.
This family descend from O'Quin of Muinter Ifearnain, in the County of Clare, in Munster. They traced their genealogy from Cormac Cas, ancestor of the Kings of Thomond and Munster.
This information comes from: "The Herald and Genealogist" Edited by John Gough Nichols, F.S.A. Printed in London by J.G. Nichols and R.C. Nichols, Printers to the Society of Antiquaries.
Hope this may be of some interest.

Part XVIII, June 1866.
