Hi Stanley,
I just found your question about the Wyllie family. I've got a Robert Wyllie who had 9 children, four of whom emigrated to America in 1872. Their daughter Catherine was only 17 when she emigrated with a view to keeping house for her brothers. Two brothers Henry and Edward Wyllie settled in Massachusetts. Robert was ordained and eventually returned to England. But lived for many years in British Guiana.Henry Wyllie had 12 children, eight of whom survived, an Edward had 13 children, nearly all of whom settled in Attleborough,Mass.
Am I right about that? Your Catherine Platel is a daughter of Henry Platel and Jane Moore, she was born on 10th August 1826 in Exeter. She married on 14th January 1847 Robert Wilson Wyllie (born 16th August 1822) He was a teacher of music at St.Luke's Training College, Exeter and a lay-Vicar of Exeter Cathedral. He wrote a book entitled "The Chanter's Manual for Exeter Cathedral", containing the Psalter by him, printed in 1858 and 1868.
If you need to know more just say it! I've got more!!!! Maybe you can tell me more about your descandents?!
