I went to Dunlop, Scotland about 4 years ago. It is in Ayrshire and located about 3 to 5 miles from Stewarton. I believe that the Wyllies that are related to Pam, Jim, and I are also related to the Wyllies of Stewarton.

The name in Scotland is spelled with one "l", Wylie.

Lesley Stainer,, wrote to me the other day looking for any information on the Illinois Wyllies. If you would contact her, I am sure she would greatly appreciate it.

Do you have any information on the Wylies from Dunlop? Particularly Alexander Wylie. He is my gggrandfather and I believe that he was from Dunlop. He married an Irish maid and was disinherited by the family. He would have been born somewhere around 1790 to 1805.

I believe that his father's name was John and that he was a silk weaver.

Waiting anxiously for a reply,

Dennis J. Wyllie
