I am looking for information on the ancestors of Samuel Berry Wyland, born 1 Jan 1863, Milesburg PA, died 12 Sept 1956, Lewistown, PA. He may be the son of Samuel B. Wyland, b. 1 Apr 1838 Rock Forge, PA. Samuel B. served in the Union Army during the Civil War, but his dates of service would permit his fathering Samuel Berry. Samuel B. was apparently a son of Jacob Wyland (b. 1807, Fayette Co., who married and then deserted Nancy Jacobs, b . 24 Nov 1813, Milesburg. Nancy died in 1893 in Bellefonte; Samuel B. died in Bellefonte in 1897. Samuel B. may have been married to Lavina Garrett in 1856. I don't know for certain that Samuel Berry is their son. Also, I have found no definite ancestors for Jacob or for Nancy, or for Lavina for that matter. Any help much appreciated.
