I am researching the Wyland families in Elkhart and Kosciusko counties in Indiana. The Wyland spelling has been pretty consistant. The story is that 6 brothers came from Mercer Co Ohio around 1830 and fonded a grist and woolen mill known as Wyland Mills. The 6 brothers were; John, Johnathan, Jacob, Daniel, Christian, and Soloman. Several of the brothers moved to Iowa sometime later. I grew up in Elkhart Co. and had family picnics at the river where ruins of the old mill stand. On the computer, go to worldconnect.rootsweb.com

Search for Daniel Wyland, maybe you can find John Wyland at the same site. I haven't seen a Peter or Charles, but I'll keeplooking

R. A.
