Sherry.......Welcome to the confusion! I have learned that the name was Weiland in Germany and after they arrived in the USA in the 1700's, the English record keepers had a heyday with the name. The Weilands that arrived later in the 1800's have been fortunate and kept their original spellings. All the other varients stem from Weiland, and if you were a Wiland, you probably descended from a german Weiland. Happy Days! Christina
