Sebastian Wygal, Pulaski Co., VA; 1809
I am not researching this family, just entering information from one of my books "Houses Virginians Have Loved" by Rothery:
"A tall grandfather's clock, made basically of mahogany, laid and interlaced with 365 different woods, one for every day of the year..was made for Sebastian Wygal, in 1809, when he lived at Sinking Springs Branch, south of the present town of Dublin on the old Richmond-Nashville Road."
"Mr. Wygal kept a tavern, which was a dividing point of the road, and maintained a line of wagons running to and from Richmond, transporting freight and supplies, and doubtless, during the time Peter Rife was making the clock, choice bits of cabinet wood.Mr. Wygal's daughter married James Miller, who was an ancestor of the present owner of the clock, Professor J. S. Miller of Charlottesville."
There was no further information on the Wygal family
