Check out wyckoffassociation.com. There are 2 thoughts on its origin. Wyckoff is dutch. Wycoff is English. The 1st known person to use the name in the New World was Judge Pieter Clausen Wyckoff (1625-1694). A Dutch immigrant to Brooklyn (New Amsterdam/ New York) in the 1640s. Origin is Dutch Wyck meaning "parrish" Hof meaning "court". As I understand it, when the English took over what is now New York, they mandated that people have last names for census purposes. Pieter Clausen chose Wyckoff. There are over 50 variations of Wyckoff now. Some include Wycoff, Wicoff, Wickoff, Wycough, etc...
