Harry Wyckoff (Ohio)
Posted by: David Wyckoff (ID *****1260) Date: April 08, 2002 at 18:45:38

My name is David Wyckoff and my grandfather was (now deceased) Harry Wyckoff. He was born in Muskingum County in Ohio in the mid twenties.
I know nothing of his family or where they originated from. I was told by my mother that the name was originally Russian and was shortened from Wyckoffskivich or something close to Wyckoff when my ancestors fled Russia to England to avoid being known as Russians. Do this sound familiar to anyone? I have no clue if this is correct.

He married my grandmother Rosalee Wyckoff (no idea what her maiden name was) and adopted my father Joshua Cloud from the reservation in Talequa, Oklahoma.
I have not much knowledge of either the Wyckoff or Cloud side of my family.
I feel like a lost pup. Can someone please point me in the right direction?
Thanks so much.
