Fiona.....finally I'm getting around to responding to your message.....My great grandfather, Joseph Wyburn immigrated in Sept. 1850...according to his naturalization paper which I was able to find in the Hardin Co. courthouse in Kenton, Ohio....I have his descendents.....but have been unable to find where in England he came from....can't even find which port he came in to...perhaps Philadelphia....which is where he was married and his first son, Edwin was born....According to stories from my father who is deceased....Joseph and a brother came to America in 1850.....we do not know for sure the brother's name.....another relative of my grandfather thought that a sister may have come also.....but my grandfather certainly mentioned this....will be anxious to hear from you again....Are there records for those emigrating kept there anywhere? My husband and I have visited England several times but have such scanty information that a search is impossible because we don't know which area....just recently I have record of a Joseph Wyborne in Rutland, England....but the birthdate is different than our Joseph ....so don't know..according to census records, etc. here...our Joseph was born 1814.....and that's all we know....Joseph had sons born by the names of Edwin, Joseph, Jr., William,& Walter(my grandfather) who came to Tennessee in the late 1890's from Ohio because of his health....the doctors recommended that he go to the mountains....I am living in Dickson, TN....about 35 miles west of Nashville....be in touch....Emma
