I sure do appreciate your help.
The information that I do have on my great-grandfather is very little. His name was Thomas Allen Davies, born 22 Feb 1843 in Jonhitel, Wales(I received an e-mail from a gentleman that told me there was no such place in existence. He sent me this information: that maybe a misreading from 19th century copperplate. He told me Pont=bridge or Pen=head, end. Pontithel, which is listed in the University of Wales Gazetteer Of Welsh Place Names. According to the list Three Cocks in the southern part of the county of Powys, North-East of Brecon.
What I am tring to do is first get the correct vital information.
I know for a fact that my great-grandfather married a lady named Sidney Collins, born in Laramie, Wyoming in the county of Albany in the year 1855. It list the year that they married as 1874. I assumed he must have arrived in Wyoming around 1869, but I have no idea where I can find out any thing about Thomas Allen Davies before comming to America.
I was always told that when Thomas Allen was raising his family, he raised Black Angus Cattle, and my grandfather Samuel Roy Davies he followed the railroad to South Carolina and married my grandmother Mary Elizabeth Morton.
I hope you can help me with some information and also be able to point me in the right direction so I can continue my search.
Thank you again,
Bobbie
