McMINN, JOHN RICHARD -SHERIFF

I am trying to find information about JOHN RICHARD McMINN who was Sheriff of Lincoln County. He died in Kemmerer while in office, June 5, 1918 of pneumonia. I have a newspaper clipping (OBITUARY) telling about his success as a peace officer in Fossil. The clipping mentions that as Deputy he captured Bert Dalton after a jail break. He escaped from prison later and John R.McMinn chased him down and arrested him again. Does anyone have more about his life there and any family that might remain.
He married Mannie ? and I don't know of any children. His mother was Rebecca Garner whose father James L. Garner was the first sheriff of Logan Co. Arkansas. Her brother Richard was a sheriff of Logan Co. AR also.
Thank you, Joyce Friddle - jfriddle@cswnet.com
