Help, Need to verify name of Class "D" baseball team in Cheyenne 1941

Please help me. Could you please check the Cheyenne newspapers for me for the baseball season of 1941? It would be sometime around the end of June through maybe Sept 1941. I need to confirm my dad's story that he played baseball for a "Class D" team in Cheyenne. I'd also like to find out the name of the team. He told me he thought it was called the "Cowboys." The newspaper probably published stats for those who played in each game, and he may have been listed as a relief pitcher while there. (He didn't attend college or the Univ. of Wyoming.) My dad, Eugene Fenter, was a left-handed pitcher, and was with the team only a few months. While he was there, he thought the team played another team in Ohio and a couple in the "Twin-Cities" area. The teams were all in "Class D" but he couldn't remember the name of the league, or the name of the Cheyenne team for sure.

Dad had been playing for the "Pacific Coast League", the team named the Salem Senators, of Salem, Oregon, and had lived in Portland, Oregon. He was sent to a team in Cheyenne in the middle of June 1941.

If you can't verify the name of the team, or don't find him listed as a pitcher in a couple games, could you advise where I could find this informaton? I tried the internet but only found the "Cowboys" listed as a team for the University. Could I get the newspaper for that time period on an inter-library loan and what newspaper or newspapers would I ask for?

Thank you.
