Is abit of History for Fremont County, Lander, Wyoming, This is a True Record. By Their Great Grand Son (Franklin John Painter, AKA Nick Leuis).
They were married at Red Canyon, May 28th, 1877.
War Department, the adjutant General's Office, Washington . (Sgt. Charles Mahr), Troop M. 2nd U.S. Calvary, age 22, Height 5 feet, 7 1/4 inches,Complexion fair, eyes Gray,Hair Brown, Place of Birth Newark N. J., Occupation Carver, Inlisted May 15th,1872 and was Discharged, May 1877, by Exp. of term of service a Pvt., Station (CAMP BROWN, WYOMING, TERRITORY), Note! (Now adays this is Lander,Fremont County Wyoming,) Jan. 1st, 1877 to Sept. 10th, 1877, in field enroute to new Station = Sept. 10th, 1877 to Oct.18th, 1877.
Bighorn Barracks, Montana Territory = Oct.18th 1877 to Dec. 1877.
Fort Custer, Montana Territory = Nov.1877 to Dec. 31,1877.
Relisted May 15th,1877 and was Discharged, May 14th, 1882, Per. Exp. of Service, A Sgt. of Calvary, Troop M. 2nd U.S. Calvary,
His Troop served in the Nes Perce and Bannack war in 1877 for over 30 day's, The Adjutant General.

This is Charles Mahr amd Margaret Rachel Black's. Certifcate Of Marriage.
I Here Certify, That on the 28th day of May A. D. 1877, at the Resident of (P.P. Dickinson), In Sweetwater County, Wyoming Territory,I Joined in Marriage (MR. Charles Mahr) OF CAMP BROWN age 27 years, and (MISS. MAGGIE BLACK) OF CAMP BROWN age 18 years, in the presence of (MRS. DICKINSON and Mrs. MOLLIE COX), Reresiding in Sweetwater County, Wyoming Territiory.
IN WETNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this 28th day of May A. D. 1877, T.W.QUINN, Justice of the Peace.



(Margaret Rachel Black), arrived 1866 in the Lander Valley, With Her Mother (Mary Ann King) and Step Father (William Huftile), Her Father (Benjamin J. Black) Was Killed in the (Black Hawk War of 1865 in Southern Utah). My Great Grand Mother (Margaret Rachel Black) came there to Lander Valley , She was 4 years old.

Company M. 2nd U.S. Calavry was Stationed at (CAMP BROWN, MONTANA TERRITORY, From November 3rd, 1875, until October 17th 1877, When the Company reported to Fort Custer.
