Milo refers to a school house on the old Widdowfield Ranch about five miles south of Elk Mountain. It was a voting district for area ranches south of the town of Elk Mountain. The original road going south from Elk Mountain crossed private ranches along the river. Today the road has been moved east a few miles across the hill tops and the old road along the river is long abandon. My grandfather attended school at Milo in the 1920's and I have a photo of the school.
