According to the book "Tough Country" by Gay Day Alcorn, Bennett's Ferry was near the Overland Trail crossing of the North Platte River. The official crossing is about 10 miles north west of Saratoga, Wyoming, and Bennet's Ferry was supposedly about 2 1/2 miles south of that crossing. The post office of Bennett's Ferry was established in 1878 and closed in 1880. There was supposedly a small village at the Bennett's Ferry site for a few years. There may still be some old ranch buildings at the site, but I do not know for certain.
