You may or may not have this.

ARMY SERIAL NUMBER        36344793       
NAME        SHERADEN CLIFFORD J

His records probably did burn in the fire of 1973 but it may be worth a shot to try to obtain them. Google Standard Form 180 and complete as much info as you can and if there is a sibling or his wife is still living, have them sign. If neither, tell them you are the oldest living relative and they may accept that.

Also, try the County Clerk or the state archives where he settled down in after the war to see if he registered his discharge papers. That should have the first and last units he was with but does not necessarily mean those were the ones he was with throughout the war as men were transferred to different units often.

Try the VFW if he belonged and /or the VA. Hope some of this information from the people who responded to you helps. Take care.
