The D-Day Assualt Forces listing at
http://www.army.mil/d-day/forces.html
doesn't include the 156th as landing on June 6-7 and not attached to any units on those dates for the invasion.

I conduct research several days a week at the NPRC in St. Louis and will check the 156th's morning reports and Shelby Stanton's "Order of Battle" (WWII). Morning Reports and Stanton's book should both provide the date that the unit landed in France.

The After Action Reports for nearly all WWII Regiments are located at the College Park archives.
