Maybe someone will be interested in knowing that the aircraft hit the ground in Vò (Padua).
The aircraft exploded over a Jewish concentration camp, Villa Venier in Vò Vecchio, whose prisoners were deported to Auschwitz in July 1944, and which is now being restaured and that will become a museum.
The body of the pilot, Thomas Haigh, was found only three months later and firs buried in Zovon cemetery.
Leonard P. Hager never returned to U.S.: his name is on War Memorial at Gallipolis, OH.
I didn't know Joseph Kerschner was Jew.
