In your posting you typed "I would like to know if the 508th saw action". The 508th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Gun Battalion participated in the following Campaigns:

New Guinea January 24, 1943-December 31, 1944
Leyte October 17, 1944-July 1, 1945
Luzon December 15, 1944-July 4, 1945

In addition, the unit was awarded a Philippine Presidential Unit Citation for its role in the liberation of The Philippine. I am unsure of what your definition of "action" is, but the 508th certainly was in combat.
