John G. Blangero - WWII Dogtag found
Posted by: Norm Richards (ID *****0170) Date: December 07, 2011 at 19:13:01

Mr. Blangero's dogtag has been found in Europe. I'm trying to locate his next of kin and return his tag since Mr. Blangero is deceased.

Here's what is known:

Born in Missouri on Nov. 28, 1918.

Entered service from Ohio ( Mahoning County)in 1944.

Married / Fireman in civilian life before enlisting.

Social Security # 296-05-5818

His personnel file indicates a home address in New Castle, PA in 1945 ( 515 Newell Ave.)No other names provided though.

Died on Dec. 1, 1975 at age 57 in Virginia, which is given as his last residence on SSDI

Thanks for any assistance.
