376th BG 512th BS Missing Air Crew Report

These men flew with the 376th BG/512th BS out of Africa.
This MACR was in regards to a mission into Italy. Part of the crew perished when the plane was hit by fire from fighter jets and exploded near Padua Italy. Some crew members bailed out and were captured and held as POWs.

P - 1st Lt THomas Haigh - KIA
CP - 2nd Lt Albert D Matthai Jr EUS (evacuated to the US)
N - 2nd Lt Norman F Troxell EUS
B - Capt Ward C Walker EUS
E - T/Sgt Peter F Stiles EUS
RO - T/Sgt William D Butler EUS
AE - Pvt Winston P Ivey - KIA
ARO- S/Sgt Leonard P Hagar RTD (returned to duty)
TG - S/Sgt Joseph A Kerschner - KIA
ArmorG -S/Sgt Romeo Giagnoni -EUS
