Hi, Naval records supposedly didn't burn in the fire of 1973 as did millions of Army and Air Corps records. Complete Standard Form 180 to obtain Naval records (link below). And if your relative died while serving in the Navy, obtain his IDPF as well. I hope you have his service number as that may speed up the process by a little. Good Luck!!

Mr. Horrell, I didn't know the IDPF gave his full military service info...thought it just told of family, date of death and circumstances of his death. I didn't know it had all his military information. Thank you for that information.
