Maybe Navy 3205 indicated where the men were located. My Dad enlisted in San Diego, California, did his "boot camp" at the Navy Recruiting Depot, San Diego, then was sent up to San Francisco, via Long Beach, and shipped out to the Manus Islands.

Unfortunately, he was somehow hurt, and only had 6 months of active duty...the rest of his hitch was spent in hopitals until his discharge.
