Thank you for that. It is all very enlightening. I had a great uncle who served in this war. He sent a post card home from this address, stating the ship he was on arrived safely. A letter followed later on, dated 24 Dec 1918 and he stated he was somewhere in France. He spent 18 mos there, 10 of which were on the battlefield. He was 20 yrs old.
