My Grandfather, James Howard Green, was in the 23rd Engineers of company "M" in 1918. I have his abstract card of WW1 service via Ancestry.com. I know he served in France, but don't have much more to go on. NARA also tells me his record was lost in the fire of 1977. I believe he was a Major.
Any more info about this unit, please share.
