my grandfather was in the Navy in WWI. The story goes that he had some mental problems and was in a soldiers home in Maryland and never returned home in Virginia. The kids (my mother and her siblings) were told that he died in the war but he did not. Anyway, can someone help me find out when and where he died? One uncle who is now deceased thinks it may have been in 1971 in Arizona. I wrote them several years ago with no luck. I am hoping someone here will know how to find veterans and I am not an Ancestry.com member.
