Cris Benson Washington State WW1
I recently discovered info about my dad's family. My great grand uncle was Christ Benson/ Cris Benson/ Christ Berntson/ Cris Berntson (his family went through a name change around the 1880's).He was born on August 17th, 1888 as Christ Berntson in Mandan, Morton County, North Dakota. His family moved to Seattle, Washington by the 1910's. On the 1910 Census he is listed as Cris Benson as is his draft card dated June 5th, 1917 (1st Registration). He is listed as a causality (died of wounds) in Causalities of the Great War. He is buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Seattle next to his parents and 2 siblings. My problem is his grave is unmarked and I would like to apply for a government headstone but I don't have any more information (service number, service dates, etc.). Can anyone help me find the info I need for the application.
If it helps, his parents were Hans and Inga (Ingeborg) Berntson (later Benson)
Also, I'm open to any ideas on how to find the info too.
Thank You,
Ila Jones
