Thank you so much for taking the time to respond.Since posting this message, I have learned a few more details about Asa's time in the military:
6/6/1918:Asa completed the WWI Draft Registration Card
8/28/1918:Asa was enlisted in the Army (Adrian, MI, Board 1)
11/4/1918:(Published in Adrian paper)Asa is transfered from 77th Infantry to the Signal Corps at Camp Custer
11/10/1918:(Letter from Asa to his mother; published in Adrian paper)Asa signs the letter as a Corporal, Co. H, 77th Inft, Camp Custer
1/17/1919:Asa was released
6/27/1984:Asa passed away; headstone is military issue and states:
Asa L Vaughn
Pvt US Army
1897-1984
(Has a cross)
So, not sure if, with this new information, anyone can provide additional information... but if you can, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you again!
