Hello Sally,

My grandfather, Michael Perez, had been on the Otranto up until the end of Sept.( a week before the sinking). He was a steward on the ship and had been posted to the "Sunhill". He made a notation in his diary about the loss of life which I would imagine had a huge impact on him since he would have known many of them. It is just by a twist of fate that I am here today to respond to your request. I hope this helps.
