What would "ruptured" mean? On a WWI registration card?
I have now seen the word ruptured twice on WWI draft registration cards. I see it on William COOK who had listed " yes ruptured" after the following question, "has person lost arm, leg, hand, feet, or both eyes, or is he otherwise diabled (specify)?"
I have no idea what "ruptured" means. In both cases "ruptured" is written without any other information.
Could someone explain this to help me out?
Thanks,
Carol
