My Great Uncle "Uncle Ike" b 07FEB1922 Thank You
One of the few siblings of my Granny Callahan's that I actually knew personally. I did not know he was in the service as I only saw him a few times in the 60's and 70's as a young child. Some of my fondest memories involve "surprises" for my brother and me that always seem to show up when he and his brother "Uncle Charlie" showed up for visits. Trains, metal assorted vehicles with real working lights and moving parts, etc. As a girl I thought it was awesome that they brought me the same gifts they brought my brother such as flutes, harmonicas and candy. They did bring me a pair of Creek turtle shell shakers when they brought my brother a drum though. I was fine with it because they were like my Granny's. As her brothers they felt responsible for my "Creek education"
