Mr. Roger,

Robert Alpine Whorley was my grandfather. The following items on my grandfather are posted in the different areas as follows on Ancestry.com.

1900 Census: Civil District 4, Marshall County, Tennessee, 8 years of age. The head of the household was "Dick" Joel Richard Whorley.

1910 Census: Civil District 5, Marshall County, Tennessee (I believe there was a re-districting and they did not actually move), 19 years of age, born abt 1891. Single living in the head of hosusehold Joel Richard (J. R.) Whorley his father.

1920 Census: Civil District 5 Marshall County, Tennessee
Age 30, Referred to as "Bob", Head of household, showing spouse Ola May Foster Whorley.

1930 Census: Civil District 5, Marshall County, Tennessee, Age 38, Showing J. R. (Joel Richard as head of household)

WWI Draft Registration Card: No. 16, FHL Roll 1877490
Robert Alpine Whorley, age 25
Address Petersburg, Tennessee
Date of Birth: September 23, 1891
Natural Born, Caucassion,
Registrars Report 41-3-23A

In each of these records his age is recorded differently. I think census enumerators were people that maybe quessed ages at times. The Draft card says his birth was 23 Sep 1891 and his death certificate says 02 Sep 1887. I used the 02 Sep 1887 for application with SAR not realizing until now that there were two different dates of birth. Of course this is a 4 year diffeence.

I have a copy of his death certificate which gives a lot of vital information.

Thank you!
