Bobby - Post all the information you have here as a NEW posting under the name of your grandfather. Don't bother trying to send it to a specific person. There are many "heplers" on this forum who know the way around military records. They will attempt to help you find the answers.

As for the veterans organization, wait until you find out where grandfather served then make the connection. If your grandfather lived in Virginia, West Virginia or central and western Pennsylvania, then he may have served in the 80th Division with which I am invloved. If he was from Maryland he could have been part of the 29th Div MD/VA National Guard.
