Hi Dick My grandfathers given name was Penn,his family name was Childs
Sarah was born as Sadler my father Thomas taking Sarah's family name.
As my father was classified as "illegitimate" no mention was made as to who his father was.I came upon my grandfathers name in my late fathers German prisoner of war camp records from WW2.
I hope this clears up any misunderstanding anyone may had
