Laura - Welcome to the world of the 80th Division -

In 2003 several of us who were descendants of WW-I 80th Division Veterans formed the Descendants of 80th Division Veterans as a support group to the 80th Division Veterans Association of which our ancestors were charter members, joining before they left France. See the following link

www.80thdescendants.com

Since you, Laura, are a third generation descendant, we would be pleased if you would become supporting and contributing member of this unique organization dedicated to preserving the history and accomplishments of The 80th Division, one of US Army’s top rated units in both wars.(WWI, WWII) Today 91 years after its founding the 80th continues as an outstanding Army Reserve Training Command.

On the website is information regarding membership, copies of newsletters, Veterans Assn reunion in Pittsburgh in August, as well as postings of other such memorabilia including a similar photo of 313th Field Artillery Regt. There are also links to the webmaster and the association secretary and historian. You have already received a direct email from our Historian Bruce Smith

Our website is one possible repository for this information to be made available. Your MSWord document could be submitted to Historian Smith in RTF format readable in most word processing software.

You may have one of the few existing original copies of the document and the photo. We are familiar with the type of these photos - 10 inches high by 48 inches wide - not something that can be easily scanned. What is the actual size of your photo? With that information I will contact a professional photographer as to the best means to duplicate it. Those old photos are very brittle and must supported for its full width to prevent cracking and breaking.

RH Nelson -
