Hello to all!
I am new to this site so let me begin by saying that i am honored to become a member of this community and will do any thing I can to earn your respect.
I am trying to gain information regarding WWI camp Merritt and info on my two great uncles, Joseph and john Castmore of Englewood, NJ who passed through the camp on their way to France in WWI. Also I am writing an essay on the camp so any knowledge of the camp will be appreciated. Also in 1918 there was a racial incident at the camp where a black Private Frye was shot by guards. The shooting was unjustified however due to unexplained events the guards went unpunished. Any knowledge of the private would be appreciated. Thanking you in advance, Greg L.
