I can't find any Civil War or Revolutionary War veterans in your Brooks family.

I did find the Brooks family in Webster County as far back as the 1860 census. It appears Lewis' parents were Miles P. (Passon or Parson) and Irene Brooks.

There is a family tree at ancestry.com that shows Miles' parents were John Laban Brooks and Elizabeth Clifton. John's parents were Abraham Brooks and Judith Sidney Carpenter. Abraham's parents were Jeremiah Brooks and
Catherine McElwain. Before Webster County the family was in Braxton County, and before that Nicholas County.
