History of Removal/Guardian

"Removal Reflections," a 224 page, hardbound 9"x12" book, is nearing completion. I expect the book to be submitted to the publisher on or about November 1, 2002, with deliveries in early January, 2003. The cost prior to 10-1-02 is $31.80 tax included, shipped free in Webster County, otherwise add $5 for shipping. After 10-1-02, cost is $37.10 tax included, plus $5 shipping outside of Webster County. Discounts are available for orders of 5 or more. I can be contacted at LJH172@citlink.net, at (304) 847-7390, or at 102 Guardian Drive, Diana, WV 26217.

The book already contains over 750 photos relating to the Guardian area (it was once called Removal). The books includes family histories, genealogy, historical facts regarding the area schools and post office, complete local cemetery listings, and sections on logging, railroads, business, schools, post office, military service, and family pictures (the largest section). The pictures date in range of 1883 to 1971. Anyone who has viewed the "Pictorial History of Webster County," by Mark Romano, can get an idea of the type of book this will be.

Submissions of photos/stories can still be made, although the book is nearly full.

Thanks for your interest,
--Jeff Hall
