Thank you so much for your reply. Va counties are about as bad as Ga when it comes to redrawing boundries. My GGGG grandfather was born in one county, married in another, had his children in still another and died in still another county and never moved from the old home place.

Thanks for the hint about the deed, that may turn out to be a valuble clue.
