ISO my 1800s PHILLIPS roots/family. Receive many responses to my postings, but incorrect line. G-grandfather suppose to be a SAMUEL PHILLIPS. No known history/migration/roots/birth/death/burial on this guy. He had unk wife. 3 know children in line: son Shelby or Selby(lived/died D.C.); unk daughter; my grandfather WILLIAM GRIFFITH PHILLIPS, b. 5 Sept 1887 WV, unk co. and d. 1960 Buffalo, NY. WILLIAM married NYS lady. Rumor has it that either WILLIAM or Shelby may have been adopted into PHILLIPS household. Rumor can't be tracked. Looking for generous person to do search for(1)census report to check to see if this line lived in Upshur Co.,(*2)possible birth record on WILLIAM. I need birth record to continue search efforts. Scanty info known on this line. Please contact me directly if you could assist me. Thank-you in advance.
